St. George/ Las Vegas Weekend

Last weekend my Dad had a young men's activity in St. George, and he decided it would be good for me and my mom to go stay down there and have a little mother/daughter weekend. We headed out Thursday morning and arrived around 1pm. We had lunch with my dad, then me and my mom headed over to the Hotel. We started out our trip with some relaxing pedicures! It was sooooo nice! We had some really nice ladies doing them. I've decided that is something I need to indulge in more often! Then we went out to dinner and decided to visit the St. George Temple visitors center. We ran into a really sweet Elder Missionary names Elder Davis. He told me and my mom lots of stories about that temple and walked around the temple grounds with us.
Friday morning we decided it would be best if we ventures over to Las Vegas :) We had a lot of fun talking and reminiscing in the car ride there. When we got there we parked at MGM because we had made reservations to eat at the Rainforest Cafe. Our reservations weren't for a while, so we decided to go visit the M&M factory. Lots of cute stuff there if you had lots of money!! I had noticed Madame Tusouds on the way in, so we went to a discount ticket booth and bought tickets for it. Then we walked back to MGM for our lunch. The atmosphere of the Rainforest Cafe was really fun! After lunch, we ended up getting lost-extremely lost- inside the MGM! It is grand for sure!! When we finally made our way back to the strip, we asked someone how far to the wax museum. They informed us it was at the other end of the strip!! So we got to walking in the 108 degree weather. We had to make pit stops in little shops along the way to cool off!! My flip flops were actually melting! We finally made it to the wax museum and had to sit down and rest for a while once we got inside!! Me and mom had a great time taking pictures with all of the celebrity wax figures. I was impressed that I convinced mom to get in better with Hef!!! Once we were leaving the museum, someone told us that there is a monerail you can take back to MGM. (would have been nice to know at the beginning of the day!!!) Once we got back to our Hotel, we hopped in the pool to cool off, then proceded to Spoon Me for some frozen yogurt.
We had such a great time!! I loved spending all that time with my mom, and was thankful that my dad provided us with such a great weekend!! We will definately have to go back with the rest of the sisters soon :)

4th of July Weekend

I had such a fun weekend!! On Saturday night Adam and I went to his friend Chris' house and had a BBQ, then we went up to Eaglewood to watch the fireworks. I LOVE watching fireworks, no matter how old you get, they still are so exciting. We had little kids sitting behind us that we so amazed by each firework that went up, it was so fun to hear their excitement and remember being little.
On Sunday, my sweet niece Zoey was blessed. She looked so adorable, and my brother Randy gave her such a beautiful blessing. This was also the first blessing in my family Adam has stood in since my niece Abbey, who is now 9 years old!! It was really awesome to see him up there. We then went to Randy and Alex's house to celebrate and visit with family and friends.
Monday was the really fun day :) We woke up early and met at my parents. The boys went up to Pineveiw Resovoir early and got the boat loaded and our beach site saved. Then everyone else went up. We all took turns going out on my sister Amy's boat. I had forgotten how much fun it is!!! I'm not super daring, so I just did tubing with my sister, but I have not laughed so hard in a long time. We were both screaming and laughing and bouncing out of control. Adam did some wakeboarding for the most part. The best part however, was getting my parents out on the tube. I don't think my mom's been at the back of a boat since her 20's. We promised them we wouldn't get them wet, so my fully clothed dad got on the back of the tube. My brother in law Kirk was very kind and only went about 8 miles per hour. They were having a great time until they came to a stop. The were both leaning forward so much that they tipped over and fell in the water! We were all laughing SOOO hard on the boat. They were such good sports and were laughing too. I think it was the funnest part of the whole weekend :)
After boating we headed back to my parents for a BBQ. It was so much fun to spend all day with my family. Having everyone together always makes me so thankful for the family I'm in. We all love each other so much and get along so well. I don't think I can say enough how much I love my family!!! Thanks everyone for such a fun weekend!!!!!!!!!
Jado kept falling asleep, all that boat rocking!!

Girls Night

Last night I got together with my friends Jessie and Ali. Me and Jessie (or JJ, as I like to call her) hang out occasionally, but I haven't seen Ali since I got married over 4 years ago!! It was really fun to see them both. We went to dinner at Z'Tejas, then went to JJ's house in the Avenues. She has such a cute place!!! We talked about old times, new times, and everything in between. JJ also showed us her next door neighbors house that had a crazy manikin in the entry way. JJ said she dressed it differently everyday!! Last night it was dressed in a chinese dress and a hawaiin leigh?!?! I took a picture but it didn't turn out. Then we took a bunch of pictures outside and laughed our heads off. Thanks for a fun night, girls!! Hope to do it again soon :)
